23.04 Payment for Working Overtime on a Holiday<br />

Where an employee is required to work authorized overtime in excess <strong>of</strong> his regular scheduled<br />

hours on a paid holiday, such employee shall receive twice (2x) his regular straight time hourly<br />

rate for such authorized overtime.<br />

23.05 Banked Holidays Full-­‐time Employees<br />

Holidays for full-­‐time employees will be banked at the beginning <strong>of</strong> the calendar year in the<br />

amount <strong>of</strong> ninety-­‐six (96) hours for all Holidays as per Clause 23.01. Such hours shall be placed<br />

in a separate bank in addition to the emClause 22.07 and administered<br />

<br />

calendar year, any Holiday hours which have not yet been earned, but which have been taken,<br />

will be reconciled accordingly and adjustments required, if any, will be made by deductions from<br />

<br />

outstanding.<br />

Christmas Day unless otherwise agreed by the Employer and the employee.<br />

The Employer will endeavour to assign these days <strong>of</strong>f on an alternating basis from one<br />

year to the next unless otherwise agreed by the Employer and the employee.<br />

It is understood that regular part-­‐time and casual employees will make themselves<br />

alternating basis unless that<br />

employee has utilized his/her seniority under Article 24 Vacation <strong>of</strong> the Collective<br />

Agreement, to have a vacation day or week during Christmas or New Years.<br />

If a regular part-­‐time casual employee, after the normal scheduling process is<br />

completed, is required to work Christmas or New Years notwithstanding (c), it will be<br />

done so on a reverse seniority basis, taking into consideration Clause 16.xx(b) <br />

Christmas Day is defined as the start <strong>of</strong> the night shift on December 24th to the end <strong>of</strong><br />

the day shift on December 25 th . New Years Day is defined as the start <strong>of</strong> the night shift<br />

on December 31 st to the end <strong>of</strong> the day shift on January 1 st for the purposes <strong>of</strong> this<br />

Article.<br />

ARTICLE 24 VACATIONS<br />

24.01 Vacation Entitlement<br />

(a)<br />

Full-­‐time Employees Vacation Entitlement:<br />

(1) Employees who have worked less than one (1) year shall have their vacation<br />

entitlement prorated.<br />
