The Employer agrees to co-­‐operate reasonably in providing necessary information to<br />

enable the Health and Safety representatives and/or committees to fulfill their<br />

functions.<br />

Health and safety issues arising at one or more <strong>of</strong> the work locations, which are <strong>of</strong><br />

significance to the organization as a whole or to more than one work location, shall be<br />

addressed to and dealt with by the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee.<br />

Issues <strong>of</strong> an urgent nature will be taken up as soon as reasonably possible with<br />

Management.<br />

The <strong>Union</strong> agrees to endeavour to obtain the full co-­‐operation <strong>of</strong> its membership in the<br />

observation <strong>of</strong> all safety rules and practices.<br />

In work locations with Health and Safety committees, meetings shall be held every three<br />

months or more frequently if required. The committee shall maintain minutes <strong>of</strong> all<br />

meetings and make the same available for review.<br />

Any representative appointed or selected shall serve for a term <strong>of</strong> two (2) calendar years<br />

from the date <strong>of</strong> appointment that may be renewed for further periods <strong>of</strong> one (1) year.<br />

Preparation time up to one hour and time spent at the Joint Health and Safety<br />

Committee meeting shall be paid at the applicable rate.<br />

Certified Member: the Employer will provide for the cost <strong>of</strong> the <strong>CUPE</strong> member to<br />

26.02 Transfer <strong>of</strong> Pregnant Employee<br />

Pregnant employees may request to be transferred from their current duties if, in the<br />

<br />

transfer is not feasible, the pregnant employee, if she so requests, will be granted an unpaid<br />

leave <strong>of</strong> absence before commencement <strong>of</strong> the maternity leave referred to in Clause 18.06.<br />

26.03 Workplace Safety Insurance Board<br />

The Employer agrees to provide the employee with a copy <strong>of</strong> the Workplace Safety Insurance<br />

Board Form 7 at the same time it is sent to the Board.<br />

The Employer agrees to send a copy <strong>of</strong> the notice <strong>of</strong> objection to a WSIB claim to the affected<br />

employee.<br />
