RAINY RIVER DISTRICT SOCIAL SERVICES<br />

(hereinafter called the "Employer")<br />

THE CANADIAN UNION OF PUBLIC EMPLOYEES<br />
AND ITS LOCAL <strong>4807</strong><br />
(hereinafter called the "<strong>Union</strong>")<br />
Of The Second Part<br />
ARTICLE 1 PREAMBLE/RECOGNITION<br />
1.01 Preamble<br />
The general purpose <strong>of</strong> this Agreement is to establish and maintain <strong>collective</strong> bargaining<br />
relations between the Rainy River District Social Services Administration Board and the<br />
employees covered by this Agreement; to provide for ongoing means <strong>of</strong> communication<br />
between the <strong>Union</strong> and the Employer and the prompt disposition <strong>of</strong> grievances and the final<br />
settlement <strong>of</strong> disputes and to establish and maintain mutually satisfactory wages, hours <strong>of</strong> work<br />
and other conditions <strong>of</strong> employment in accordance with the provisions <strong>of</strong> this Agreement.<br />
It is recognized that the employees wish to work efficiently together with the Employer to secure<br />
the best possible care and health protection for patients.<br />
1.02 Feminine / Masculine Pronouns and Plurals<br />
Wherever the feminine pronoun is used in this Agreement, it includes the masculine pronouns<br />
and vice versa where the context so requires. Whenever the singular is used in this Agreement,<br />
it shall also mean the plural and vice versa where the context so requires.<br />
