Overtime will have been deemed to have been <strong>of</strong>fered to an employee when the<br />
Supervisor or designate, places a telephone call to the primary telephone number<br />
and/or secondary telephone number if provided by the employee. If the Manager or<br />
designate reaches an answering machine he will leave a message indicating the call was<br />
made.<br />
In the event if either, the overtime shift is a regular four (4) hour scheduled shift, or the<br />
preceding eight (8), the Employer may at its discretion <strong>of</strong>fer the shift respectively to the<br />
employee working the preceding eight (8) hour shift or the employee working the four<br />
(4) hour shift.<br />
In an emergency situation, the Employer may take any and all steps necessary, to staff an<br />
ambulance including circumvention <strong>of</strong> the overtime process.<br />
22.07 Time Off in Lieu <strong>of</strong> Overtime<br />
Employees who work overtime will not be required to take time <strong>of</strong>f in regular hours to make up<br />
for overtime worked subject to the following:<br />

Employees intending to bank lieu hours for overtime or call-‐in will indicated accordingly<br />
on their time sheet.<br />
Time in lieu may be accumulated and shall not exceed sixty (60) banked hours at any<br />
given time. All additional hours will be paid out at the applicable rate.<br />
An employee wishing to use banked time shall request such time <strong>of</strong>f in writing at least at<br />
least two (2) weeks in advance <strong>of</strong> the requested time <strong>of</strong>f. The Employer shall provide a<br />
response no later than one (1) week in advance <strong>of</strong> the requested time <strong>of</strong>f. Banked time<br />
may be taken at a mutually agreed time between the employee and the Employer.<br />
(d) The parties agree that an employee may carry over a maximum <strong>of</strong> twenty-‐four (24)<br />
hours. In doing so the maximum hours that may be accumulated under Clause 22.07 (b)<br />
<strong>of</strong> sixty (60) hours shall not be exceeded.<br />
(e)<br />
It is understood that all banked lieu time, except as permitted under paragraph (d)<br />
above, shall be paid out in the first pay period <strong>of</strong> the following year at the rate in effect<br />
when it was earned.<br />
22.08 Reporting Pay<br />
Employees who report for any scheduled shift will be guaranteed at least four (4) hours <strong>of</strong> work,<br />
or if no work is available will be paid at least four (4) hours except when the work is not available<br />
due to conditions beyond the control <strong>of</strong> the Employer. The reporting allowance outlined as<br />
herein shall not apply whenever an employee has received prior notice not to report for work.<br />
Employees scheduled to work less than eight (8) hours per day will receive a pro-‐rated amount<br />
<strong>of</strong> reporting pay.<br />
