New Business Development This is a newly formed focus group that whose main aims are: a. To maximize Enterprise Development spend based on current activities within Sasol Limited b. Implement Enterprise Development internationally where Sasol is active c. Work closely with Sasol Business Units to implement projects 7. Business and Entrepreneur Support The intent of this group is to ensure sustainability of businesses incubated post the implementation phase. This is achieved by: a. Providing comprehensive business and entrepreneur support starting from the implementation stage of the value chain. b. Influencing the selection of clients and projects with high sustainability potential c. Developing and managing strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to leverage unique offering to clients d. Ensuring compliance, good governance and risk management by Sasol ChemCity incubated clients e. Providing fit for purpose corporate image support f. Developing skills and competencies to ensure quality results. 8. Site Development and Management The ChemCity Industrial Park is situated in Sasolburg which is the industrial hub of the Free State. It boasts 120 hectares of industrial land that caters for light and medium industrial activities. Sites on offer range from 1000 – 10000 m2. The park has 24-hour access-controlled security. Sasol ChemCity facilitates site selection, assistance with feasibility studies, legal and environmental, major hazards installation analysis, amongst other services. The Park is currently being developed by Sasol ChemCity (Pty) Ltd. The purpose of the Park is to offer entrepreneurs and SMME’s a world class iconic Industrial Park that can cater to their requirements and assist with maintaining sustainability and success. A variety of services are on offer and the prices of the stands vary according to the zoning of the stand. The Park offers an environment that incorporates elements of biodiversity, indigenous vegetation, green and energy efficient buildings. 9. Polymer Focus Group The Polymer Focus Group strives to be the leading business enabler in the field of polymer conversion in South Africa by implementing ground breaking technologies and innovative 256

These objectives are achieved through a well established national network of technical support structures, business associates and financial expertise. The Polymer Focus Group take pride in delivering quality results in every project we engage in. The project portfolio encompasses a broad spectrum of industry sectors within the polymer conversion area, i.e. packaging materials, pipes and construction material. There is also a strong focus on recycling projects and products from recycled material in an effort to contribute towards a clean, safe and sustainable environment. The Polymer Focus Group combines skill and experience. While there is ample ability inhouse, the Sasol ChemCity model allows the focus group to source the necessary skills or experience, at no cost to the entrepreneur. Sasol’s support gives us access to markets and industry knowledge, which is one of Sasol ChemCity’s greatest key to success. As a business incubator, the Sasol ChemCity Polymer Focus Group’s purpose is to help establish and grow businesses by providing support to entrepreneurs, both in developing a bankable business plan as part of the post funding implementation phase. By serving polymer entrepreneurs, Sasol ChemCity is supporting the communities in which they operate and therefore contributing towards Government’s overall growth and transformation strategy. This support provides a positive contribution to Sasol’s relationship with Government and so benefits the group as a whole. The Polymer Focus Group has centered itself around four sub-focus areas: a. Turnarounds for distressed businesses b. Wood-Plastic Composites c. Sasol Polymers (PP, PE, PVC) d. Alternative Building Technology The service offering of the Polymer Focus Group is comprehensive and is outlined below: a. Comprehensive business training programs, Project facilitation and assistance with a. Business and Management skills b. Advisory boards and mentors selection c. Management team identification d. Deal structure and negotiation e. Networking activities f. Industry and competitor analysis g. Opportunity identification h. Environmental impact studies i. Feasibility studies j.
