Therefore, the historical background presented in the introduction has a<br />

direct correlation with the body of the material to be presented later .<br />

process that led to the origins of the organization<br />

2 . Factors that led to the growth of the organization .<br />

3 . Factors that led to the decline of the organization .<br />

4 . What was the class composition of the membership of the<br />

organization Did it change from origin to demise<br />

5 . What was the age composition of the organization Did it<br />

change in the growth/decline process<br />

6 . What was the size of the membership of the organization from<br />

its origin, apex and demise<br />

7 . Usefulness of the organization as a model for the future<br />

Within the context of dealing with RAM, an<br />

urban <strong>revolutionary</strong> <strong>movement</strong>,<br />

and the state's response to it, the researcher will analyze the<br />

state's historical<br />

response to other <strong>revolutionary</strong> <strong>movement</strong>s in American<br />

history .<br />

Data Collection Methodology<br />

Several research techniques will be utilized during the course of this<br />

study .<br />

Primary and secondary sources of historical data will be researched .<br />

Internal and public documents of RAM will be examined . The researcher has<br />

collected a complete set of RAM's public documents and a less complete set<br />

of the organizations internal documents . In addition, newspaper accounts,<br />

magazine reports and books dealing with the <strong>movement</strong> shall be researched .<br />

As a participant observer, primary data of the research will be used . From<br />

1963 to 1968, the researcher collected New York and Philadelph a newspaper
