Joint Force L<strong>and</strong> Component Comm<strong>and</strong>er<br />

6-22. The JFLCC is responsible to the JFC for making recommendations on<br />

the proper employment of l<strong>and</strong> forces, planning <strong>and</strong> conducting l<strong>and</strong> <strong>operations</strong>,<br />

or accomplishing such operational missions as may be assigned. He<br />

comm<strong>and</strong>s l<strong>and</strong> forces, including Army <strong>and</strong> Marine <strong>air</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>missile</strong> <strong>defense</strong><br />

forces, <strong>and</strong> assigns missions.<br />

Joint Force Air Component Comm<strong>and</strong>er<br />

6-23. The JFACC responsibilities are assigned by the JFC. Normally these<br />

include planning, coordination, allocation, <strong>and</strong> tasking of <strong>air</strong> assets based on<br />

the JFC's apportionment decision. The JFACC allocates <strong>air</strong> sorties to both offensive<br />

<strong>and</strong> defensive counter<strong>air</strong>, <strong>and</strong> TMD attack <strong>operations</strong>. The JFC <strong>us</strong>ually<br />

assigns the JFACC responsibilities as both <strong>air</strong>space control authority<br />

<strong>and</strong> area <strong>air</strong> <strong>defense</strong> comm<strong>and</strong>er.<br />

Joint Force Maritime Component Comm<strong>and</strong>er<br />

6-24. The JFMCC is given the authority necessary to accomplish maritime<br />

missions <strong>and</strong> tasks assigned by the JFC. During the early part of forceprojection<br />

<strong>operations</strong>, when the naval forces provide the preponderance of <strong>air</strong><br />

assets, the JFMCC (or one of his subordinates) may be designated as the<br />

JFACC. He may also be assigned responsibilities as the area <strong>air</strong> <strong>defense</strong><br />

comm<strong>and</strong>er <strong>and</strong> the <strong>air</strong>space control authority.<br />
