(2001), Hyman et al. (2008), and poverty data from Wood et al. (2010) and crop distribution maps from You et al (2000; accessed 2009). Proportaion data of maize area in
farming systems not inlcuded by Hyman et al (2008) was estimated based on FAO country data.
