Economic activity on<strong>Kangaroo</strong> <strong>Island</strong> is dominated by agriculture, forestry and fishing but, as demonstrated inSection 5 below, the tourism industry is also a significant contributor with associatedaccommodation, transport and retail service sectors.4.2 <strong>Kangaroo</strong> <strong>Island</strong> Economy: Recent TrendsEmployment• Between 2007/08 and 2011/12 total employment on <strong>Kangaroo</strong> <strong>Island</strong> has grown by 4per cent similar to SA as a whole.
