Health Care Administration (HCA) <strong>Student</strong>’s ClubThe HCA <strong>Student</strong>’s Club is a group of students that are majoring in Health Care Administration or interested inhealth care in general. The purpose of <strong>the</strong> club is <strong>to</strong> promote excellence in healthcare management in <strong>the</strong> regionand integrate <strong>the</strong> <strong>Methodist</strong> <strong>University</strong> students’ in<strong>to</strong> as many healthcare-related activities as possible. It is ledby elected students and <strong>the</strong> club performs several community service projects annually as well as raise money<strong>to</strong> be able <strong>to</strong> send HCA students <strong>to</strong> regional conferences such as <strong>the</strong> North Carolina Medical group Managersfall or spring meeting, etc. The HCA <strong>Student</strong>’s Club meets at least once a month throughout <strong>the</strong> academic year.Dr. Warren G. Membership is open <strong>to</strong>all <strong>Methodist</strong> <strong>University</strong> students who express an interest in <strong>the</strong> Health Professions, regardless of <strong>the</strong>ir major.Margaret Folsom, 630-7127 and Lori Brookman, 630-7128International ClubThe International Club provides an environment for promoting <strong>the</strong> culture of international students andmaking <strong>the</strong> campus more aware of foreign cultures. Any member of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Methodist</strong> <strong>University</strong> Communitywho has an interest in cultural diversity and international understanding may join.Lyle Sheppard, 630-7225Iota Tau Alpha (MU Chapter)“We heal those contending for <strong>the</strong> prize”The purpose of <strong>the</strong> Iota Tau Alpha national honor society is <strong>to</strong> function as an honor and professionalsociety for students in athletic training education programs. The activities of Iota Tau Alpha are designed<strong>to</strong> stimulate interest, scholarly attainment, and investigation in athletic training education. To be eligible formembership, a student must be in his or her second semester of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Methodist</strong> <strong>University</strong> athletic trainingeducation program and have obtained at least a 3.3 GPA in athletic training courses and a 3.0 GPA overall.Jennifer Cuchna, 630-7143Kappa Alpha PsiKappa Alpha Psi was founded on <strong>the</strong> campus of Indiana <strong>University</strong> on January 5, 1911. The Fraternity’sfundamental purpose is achievement. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. has adopted core objectives for itsmembers and <strong>the</strong> organization as a whole. Membership is a solemn commitment. Maturity <strong>to</strong> us meansacceptanceof reality, <strong>the</strong> ability <strong>to</strong> sacrifice and set goals, consideration of o<strong>the</strong>rs, incisive judgement,emotional balance, development of social skills, intellectual competence, and moral rectitude. Dedicationmeans putting those characteristics of maturity in<strong>to</strong> a lifelong program of action <strong>to</strong> advance <strong>the</strong> goalsand purposes of Kappa Alpha Psi. Kappas were founded on campus in Spring <strong>2012</strong>.Kappa SigmaThe Kappa Sigma fraternity is committed <strong>to</strong> fostering a close cooperative partnership with all colleges anduniversities with existing chapters. Kappa Sigma promotes academic achievement and assists each member<strong>to</strong> achieve his academic potential. The fraternity promotes involvement in all aspects of campus life. Thecreation of lifelong bonds is a primary benefit of fraternity membership. We organize well-rounded programs and strive for excellence and quality in all undertakings.Cliff Bobbitt, 630-7242Lambda Chi AlphaLambda Chi Alpha was founded in 1909. Lambda Chi Alpha is an International Fraternity that centers itself aroundseven core values. These values are: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Service and Stewardship, Honor, Integrity, andPersonal Courage. Lambda Chi Alpha was <strong>the</strong> first Fraternity <strong>to</strong> completely ban hazing in 1972. Also, <strong>the</strong>re areno “pledges” in Lambda Chi Alpha. Once an individual joins, <strong>the</strong>y become an Associate Member who are able<strong>to</strong> vote, hold office, etc. The only thing that separates an Associate Member from a full member is <strong>the</strong> Ritual.The Lec<strong>to</strong>r ClubThe Lec<strong>to</strong>r Club supports students who wish <strong>to</strong> attend plays, concerts, museums, lectures, <strong>to</strong>urs, ando<strong>the</strong>r cultural events. Sponsored by The Honors Program, <strong>the</strong> Lec<strong>to</strong>r Club invites all students with similarinterests and goals <strong>to</strong> join.Dr. P.
