Linguasphere Foreign Language ClubThe purpose of this organization is <strong>to</strong> enable members <strong>to</strong> broaden <strong>the</strong>ir knowledge in <strong>the</strong> areas of <strong>the</strong> foreignlanguages, literature, and cultures promoted by <strong>the</strong> Department of Modern Languages and Literature,especially for those students enrolled in those courses offered by <strong>the</strong> Department. Our scripturalfoundation is in Jesus’ words: “Where two or more are ga<strong>the</strong>red, <strong>the</strong>re I am also,” and we utilize this verse<strong>to</strong> endorse <strong>the</strong> importance and effectiveness of this fellowship. The club invites speakers <strong>to</strong> visit <strong>the</strong> campus and talk <strong>to</strong> students about<strong>the</strong>ir accounting background, experience, and expertise. The club engages in fund raising activities. It isa good resource of first-hand information about <strong>the</strong> accounting profession. The group is well-known for its performances throughout <strong>the</strong> region. Additionally,<strong>the</strong> organization exists <strong>to</strong> increase <strong>the</strong> awareness of music education and arts advocacy. MUCR members participate in political campaigns and assist with election administration.Andrew Ziegler, 630-7488<strong>Methodist</strong> <strong>University</strong> Model United Nations (MUN) and Model Arab League (MAL)The Political Science program sponsors a Collegiate Model United Nations/Arab League Club and a HighSchool Model United Nations Conference. The Club competes at collegiate MUN and MAL events at <strong>the</strong>state, national, and international levels. Participation in <strong>the</strong> Club improves critical thinking skills, verbalabilities, and leadership. Membership is open <strong>to</strong> all majors. The Club is a <strong>Methodist</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>Student</strong>Government Association approved organization. The High School Model United Nations Conference isheld each May. Activities include trips <strong>to</strong> Washing<strong>to</strong>n D.C., plus attending <strong>the</strong> annual conferenceof <strong>the</strong> North Carolina Political Science Association. MUSATA is dedicated <strong>to</strong> promoting and encouraging higher scholastic achievement andprofessional development in <strong>the</strong> study of athletic training.
