Forest ecosystems are fragile,often because of overexploitation by the population for subsistence.Research carried out over the last ten years on species, modes of settlementand management, makes it possible to propose suitable solutionsfor reforestation, agro-forestry and management of rural and urbanperipheral zones with a view to fixing the soil, restoring fertility, producingfuel wood and lumber, fodder, food products and financial revenuefrom the sale of forest products.Urban periphery and agro-forestry reforestation programs in savannahand forested areas shall be partly implemented (directly or indirectly) byANAFOR in accordance with the national program for the planting ofprivate and community forests.3.
