In a subsequentarticle I hope to deal more fullywith theacquisitions of 1911 and 1912, and afterwards to carryon the series with regularity, possibly at intervals oftwo years.The selection may appear to be somewhat meagre.But in order not to occupy space, I have omitted a largenumber of coins which would have made more show,either because they have been acquired at sales, in thecatalogues of which they have been described and, inimportant cases, illustrated ;or because they have beenacquired with a view to completing a series of whichthe official catalogue is or was at the time of the purchasein preparation ; or, finally, because they have beenpublished elsewhere since their acquisition. Under the1Mr. Wroth's last article included one or two coins acquired in 1905,but was not representative of the acquisitions of that year.
