BAZIAEflZ ANTIOXOY (r.) ;IAOriA;rOPO (L).Wreath border.JR. 1-3. Attic tetradrachm. Wt. 262 grs.This is a curious piece <strong>of</strong> work.[PI. XI. 6.]<strong>The</strong> flan is unusuallybroad : <strong>the</strong> likeness <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> King is uncommon. Mostly<strong>the</strong> portraits show a slight beard <strong>and</strong> moustache, thoughsome are clean shaven. <strong>The</strong> treatment <strong>of</strong> A<strong>the</strong>ne isremarkable : she is almost an inch in length. <strong>The</strong>symbol in <strong>the</strong> field (right) resembles <strong>the</strong> lilyon <strong>the</strong>Jewish shekels more than anythingelse. Dr. Macdonald,Hunter Catalogue (PI. Ixx. 8), attributes a tetradrachm<strong>of</strong> Seleucus VI with a similar five-leaved flower in <strong>the</strong>field left to <strong>the</strong> mint at Seleucia ad Calycadnum.30. Obv.
