Purpose<br />

This book provides information about <strong>Teradata</strong> T<strong>Pump</strong>, which is a <strong>Teradata</strong> ® Tools and<br />

Utilities product. <strong>Teradata</strong> Tools and Utilities is a group of products designed to work with<br />

<strong>Teradata</strong> <strong>Data</strong>base.<br />

<strong>Teradata</strong> T<strong>Pump</strong> is a data loading utility that helps maintain (update, delete, insert, and<br />

atomic upsert) the data in <strong>Teradata</strong> <strong>Data</strong>base. <strong>Teradata</strong> T<strong>Pump</strong> uses standard <strong>Teradata</strong> SQL to<br />

achieve moderate to high data loading rates to <strong>Teradata</strong> <strong>Data</strong>base. Multiple sessions and<br />

multi-statement requests are typically used to increase throughput.<br />
