AXILLARY LYMPH NODE METASTASIS IN LUNG CANCER<br />

Background: The morbidity and mortality of lung cancer are rather high.<br />

One major metastasis pathway of lung cancer is lymph node metastasis.<br />

The incidence of axillary lymph node metastasis(ALNM) is rare, and little is<br />

known about its clinicopathological characteristics. Methods: The clinical<br />

data of 91 patients with ALNM who were treated in Zhejiang Cancer Hospital<br />

from January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2013 were retrospectively analyzed.<br />

The relevance of tumor site, local lymph node site and axillary lymph node<br />

site were checked by contingency table. Survival rates were calculated by the<br />

Kaplan-Meier method and compared by the log-rank test. Results: Lung cancer<br />

patients with ALNM were often presented with adenocarcinoma(59.3%,<br />

peripheral tumor type(71.4%), pleura invasion with pleural effusion(48.4%)<br />

or chest wall invasion(52.7%). There was a relationship between tumor<br />
