B.2.3.6 STATUS REGISTER FORMAT<br />

The status register shall be <strong>for</strong>matted as specified in §A.2.3.6.<br />

B.2.3.7 EVENT-DRIVEN PROTOCOL<br />

The event-driven protocol register shall be as specified in §A.2.3.7.<br />

B.2.3.8.1 EMERGENCY/PRIORITY STATUS<br />

B.2.3.8.1.1 Format<br />

B.2.3.8 AIRCRAFT STATUS<br />

The aircraft status squitter that conveys emergency/priority status in<strong>for</strong>mation shall be <strong>for</strong>matted as specified in the<br />

definition of transponder register 6116, Table B-2-97a.<br />

B.2.3.8.1.2 Transmission rate<br />

This message shall be broadcast at r<strong>and</strong>om intervals that are uni<strong>for</strong>mly distributed between 0.7 <strong>and</strong> 0.9 seconds <strong>for</strong> the<br />

duration of the emergency.<br />

B.2.3.8.1.3 Message delivery<br />

Message delivery shall be accomplished using the event-driven protocol (see §A.2.3.7). The broadcast of this message<br />

shall not take priority over the ACAS RA broadcast but shall take priority over all other event-driven message types, as<br />

specified in §B.2.5.5.3.<br />
