"Do you know the Table of the Ten
Commandments?" asked Bilney. The friar replied
that he did.
"And do you know the constitutions devised by
men, and bound on men under pain of death?" The
friar gave a qualified confession of his knowledge
of such constitutions.
"It is written," said Bilney, "'The temple of the
Lord is holy, which is you.' Therefore, the
conscience of man is the temple of the Holy Ghost.
