presided, had frequent occasion to reprove <strong>the</strong><br />

bishops for transgress<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> rules <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> debate.<br />

The Bishops <strong>of</strong> W<strong>in</strong>chester and L<strong>in</strong>coln angrily<br />

retorted by threaten<strong>in</strong>g to excommunicate <strong>the</strong><br />
