took <strong>in</strong>to his own hands, and <strong>the</strong> oath which he<br />

adm<strong>in</strong>istered to those whom he placed <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>se sees<br />

bound <strong>the</strong>m to fealty, not to <strong>the</strong> chair <strong>of</strong> Peter, but<br />

to <strong>the</strong> throne <strong>of</strong> <strong>England</strong>. As aga<strong>in</strong>st <strong>the</strong> usurped<br />

foreign authority which <strong>the</strong> K<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> <strong>England</strong> now<br />
