the corrected Prayer Book of Edward VI the words
given above were changed into the, following:
"Take and eat this in remembrance that Christ died
for thee, and feed on him in thy heart by faith;"
"Drink this in remembrance that Christ's blood was
shed for thee, and be thankful." A rubric was also
added, through the influence of Knox, to the effect
that though the posture of kneeling was retained at
the celebration of the Lord's Supper, no adoration
of the elements was thereby intended.[12]
