given above were changed <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong>, follow<strong>in</strong>g:<br />

"Take and eat this <strong>in</strong> remembrance that Christ died<br />

for <strong>the</strong>e, and feed on him <strong>in</strong> thy heart by faith;"<br />

"Dr<strong>in</strong>k this <strong>in</strong> remembrance that Christ's blood was<br />

shed for <strong>the</strong>e, and be thankful." A rubric was also<br />

added, through <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>fluence <strong>of</strong> Knox, to <strong>the</strong> effect<br />

that though <strong>the</strong> posture <strong>of</strong> kneel<strong>in</strong>g was reta<strong>in</strong>ed at<br />

<strong>the</strong> celebration <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lord's Supper, no adoration<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> elements was <strong>the</strong>reby <strong>in</strong>tended.[12]<br />
