WHERE IS IT? Located in the<br />
heart of historic downtown <strong>Cape</strong><br />
<strong>May</strong>, Iccara is just steps from the<br />
Washington Street Mall, behind<br />
Collier’s Liquor Store (which is very<br />
useful, given that Iccara is BYOB).<br />
WHY SHOULD I GO? Proprietor<br />
and local restaurateur of more than<br />
30 years, Vincenzo Sanzone grew up<br />
in a small town in Sicily called Iccara.<br />
Vincenzo’s grandmother, who was<br />
always creating remarkable culinary<br />
concoctions in her simple kitchen,<br />
taught him that delicious food is<br />
equally as important as a warm,<br />
welcoming atmosphere surrounded<br />
by family and friends.<br />
Today, Vincenzo brings the<br />
food inspired by the coastal Italian<br />
town of Iccara to the seaside town<br />
of <strong>Cape</strong> <strong>May</strong>. Years after Vincenzo<br />
moved to <strong>Cape</strong> <strong>May</strong>, the name of<br />
his childhood town was changed<br />
to Carini, but Iccara still lives in<br />
Vincenzo’s heart — after dining at<br />
Iccara, it might just live in yours, too.<br />
