A gorgeous, imaginative, inspiring store where quirky, beautiful soaps and lotions are handmade at a local factory!<br />
WHERE IS IT? On the mall — look for<br />
the stairwell down from Winterwood.<br />
A Place on Earth also has a factory and<br />
outlet store at <strong>Cape</strong> <strong>May</strong> Airport and<br />
a cool spot on Ocean City boardwalk,<br />
next to Stewart’s Root Beer.<br />
WHY SHOULD I GO? The differences<br />
between supermarket soaps and the<br />
soap Canyon Allen and his mother<br />
Rose make? Let’s start with the amazing<br />
scents, like Fresh Cut Grass, Key<br />
West Key Lime, Sex On The Beach,<br />
Tangerine Chamomile. Next, they are<br />
hand-stirred, cured in wooden molds<br />
and hand-cut. Only plant life is used to<br />
make them — olive, coconut palm and<br />
other vegetable-based ingredients are<br />
integral. Then organic botanicals are<br />
mixed in, like lavender flowers, ground<br />
oats or rosemary. The scents come from<br />
essential oils and are tested on family<br />
and friends — not Fido or Thumper.<br />
Their new Body Spread is awesome<br />
— the richest, creamiest, best-smelling<br />
lotion you’ll find. There are also handcut<br />
soap rocks to exfoliate, and Monster<br />
Spray, a lavender-scented sheet and<br />
room spray that will lull you (and more<br />
importantly, your kids) to sleep.<br />
