HIGHLIGHTS<br />
WHERE IS IT? Washington Commons, near Acme.<br />
WHY SHOULD I GO? For 35 years, Lynn Arden’s<br />
Children Shoppe operated on the mall, known for<br />
fashionable children’s clothing and cool toys and<br />
accessories at reasonable prices. Then Lynn Arden<br />
Kramer, a mom of four and grandmom of six, decided<br />
to retire. But not for long.<br />
“No sooner than it was sold, I wanted it back,”<br />
she says. “Customers said they were sorry to see us<br />
go.”<br />
A second iteration of the beloved store, Arden’s<br />
Kids, opened in Washington Commons in 2018.<br />
All the best brands are back, plus some great new<br />
additions. There’s practical and there’s whimsical.<br />
There’s cute and there’s, well, really cute.<br />
But don’t take our word for it. Check out the<br />
shop for yourself — your kids (or grandkids or<br />
newphews or nieces or friends) will thank you.<br />
INSIDER TIP It’s a true family business, with three<br />
generations working together to run the store. Lynn<br />
is joined by her daughter Jennifer, who handles the<br />
daily operations, and Jennifer’s daughter Arden, who<br />
assists her grandmother with merchandise buying.<br />
