When Ginny Murray moved with her husband Hugh from West Chester, PA to enjoy
a well-earned retirement in North Cape May, one of the first things she did was buy
a camera. Although Ginny had worked for 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry,
photography was one of her first loves. Take a look through this portfolio of North
Cape May images and you’ll see that the passion still burns pretty strongly.
Ginny and Hugh (a retired police chief from Willistown Township in Malvern,
PA) have become a ubiquitous presence in the area since moving here 10 years ago,
enthusiastically cataloging their jaunts around town. Ginny’s photographs and videos
on social media are enjoyed by thousands of locals and visitors to the area.
“I had a basic photography class back in the early ’80s at Delaware County
Community College, when 35mm was the only way to go,” says Ginny, whose moody
black-and-white shot of a Wildwood beach was chosen as the winner in the annual
student art show. These days, her tools are a Canon PowerShot SX60HS and her everpresent
iPhone 12 Pro.
Her favorite time to shoot? “I’m especially drawn to that magic hour right before
sunset, but there’s so much to be seen down here at all hours of the day.”
