are already open. On Saturday the celebrated<br />

Weccacoe Band of Philadelphia, which had taken<br />

such a prominent part in the musical festivals held<br />

here the past few years, and which is engaged for<br />

the summer from July 4, is to give a concert on the<br />

grand pavilion of the new iron pier. There is also<br />

to be a hop given in the pavilion, which has been<br />

enclosed with glass, and can be closed up if the<br />

weather should prove unfavorable. On Sunday the<br />

band is to give a sacred concert in the pavilion. Prof<br />

Gosche is to have charge of this as well as the musical<br />

festivals during the summer at the <strong>Cape</strong>.<br />

As a general thing there is not much of a crowd<br />

here until about the Fourth of July, but the arrivals<br />

last Saturday and this week have been quite<br />

numerous, and everything indicates a lively and<br />

prosperous season. The weather seems not to be<br />

getting down to business and the hot spells which<br />

are expected to follow make the bosom of the summer<br />

resort hotel men swell with delight, as they are
