At the time this<br />

picture was<br />

taken, both the<br />

Morning Star<br />

Villa, on the left,<br />

and Evening<br />

Star Villa, on<br />

the right, were<br />

operated in<br />

conjunction with<br />

the Colonial<br />

Hotel. The<br />

Morning Star<br />

and Evening Star<br />

were moved to a<br />

new property on<br />

the eastern part<br />

of Beach Avenue<br />

by Reverend<br />

Carl McIntire in<br />

the 1960s, after<br />

they were slated<br />

for demolition<br />

by the owners<br />

of the Lafayette<br />

Hotel, who<br />

sought to use<br />

the land for a<br />

parking lot. The<br />

Weightman<br />

Cottages, visible<br />

on the far left<br />

of the picture,<br />

were also moved<br />

by Reverend<br />

McIntire and are<br />

now operated<br />

as the Angel of<br />

the Sea bed and<br />

breakfast. The<br />

Evening Star<br />

has since been<br />

demolished and<br />

the Colonial is<br />

now The Inn of<br />

<strong>Cape</strong> <strong>May</strong>.<br />
