What started as a treat for family and friends has become a tasty, East Coast phenom. One taste and you’ll understand why.<br />
WHERE IS IT? Carpenter’s Lane<br />
between Jackson and Decatur.<br />
WHY SHOULD I GO? Once upon a<br />
time, Jerry Klause made what he called<br />
an ice cream pecan pie lasagna for<br />
family and friends. And, boy, did they<br />
love it. Jerry realized he had stumbled<br />
across a delicious creation that would<br />
cater to the masses and the Klause<br />
family set out to share their sandwiches<br />
at farmers markets and festivals.<br />
In 2015, the first brick-and-mortar<br />
establishment opened in <strong>Cape</strong> <strong>May</strong>.<br />
The growing success of Peace Pie led<br />
to the opening of three more locations<br />
— Ventnor City on the Jersey Shore;<br />
Charleston, South Carolina; and St<br />
Augustine, Florida.<br />
The success story continues...<br />
BuzzFeed listed Peace Pie as one<br />
of the top 25 ice cream sandwiches<br />
in the country; their Insider Dessert<br />
video shot in St Augustine went viral<br />
with more than a million views; and a<br />
Charleston store was featured on The<br />
Baker Sisters on Food Network Canada.<br />
