for enhancing use of the disc, such as Web links. <strong>DVD</strong> text is organized in a<br />

way that mirrors the logical hierarchy of the <strong>DVD</strong> volume (see Figure 6.35).<br />

Text is stored in language blocks so that the contents can be described in<br />

different languages. There is no requirement that the information be the<br />

same in both languages. For example, detailed information could be presented<br />

about every title and chapter in English but only title information in<br />

other languages.<br />

<strong>DVD</strong> has two types of text items: structure identifiers and application<br />

content items. Each text item includes a numerical code that identifies it.<br />

Text items with a code of 1 through 32 are structure identifiers. They have<br />

no associated text. The numerical code identifies the logical structure to<br />

which any following content items belong (see Table 6.37). A hierarchical<br />

structure is used that corresponds closely to the logical structure of a <strong>DVD</strong><br />

disc contents: volume, title, chapter, and so on. Codes above 32 identify content<br />

items that hold text information. The exact way in which content<br />
