AUTHOE'S ADDENDA.<br />
Each of the former ed<strong>it</strong>ions of " Tlie Ferrotype,<br />
<strong>and</strong> How <strong>to</strong> Make It," were ornamented<br />
w<strong>it</strong>h one or more samples of <strong>ferrotype</strong>s, which<br />
were intended <strong>to</strong> convey <strong>to</strong> the amateur, or<br />
prospective professional, an idea of the best that<br />
could be done w<strong>it</strong>h the materials provided for<br />
the purpose by the most prominent s<strong>to</strong>ck-house<br />
<strong>and</strong> manufacturers of pho<strong>to</strong>graphic requis<strong>it</strong>es<br />
in the country.<br />
When <strong>it</strong> was decided <strong>to</strong> print a third ed<strong>it</strong>ion,<br />
<strong>it</strong> was thought advisable <strong>to</strong> again send out<br />
w<strong>it</strong>h the book a specimen of the best work of<br />
the special branch of the art <strong>to</strong> which <strong>it</strong> was<br />
devoted, <strong>and</strong> <strong>it</strong> was also believed that such<br />
improvements as have been introduced of late<br />
years might in this manner be best illustrated<br />
<strong>and</strong> brought <strong>to</strong> the attention of the reader.<br />
Messrs. E. & H. T. Anthony &: Co., the present<br />
owners of the copyright, being desirous that<br />
the illustrations should be of the best, very<br />
kindly placed the resources of their immense<br />
