• AUTOMATIC – the <strong>IRD</strong>-<strong>2900</strong> automatically detects and sets the Spectral<br />

Inversion Mode<br />

• INVERTED – sets the <strong>IRD</strong>-<strong>2900</strong> receiver to “inverted” Spectral Inversion<br />

Mode.<br />

• NORMAL - sets the <strong>IRD</strong>-<strong>2900</strong> receiver to normal Spectral Inversion Mode.<br />

PL SCRAMBLING SEED<br />

The Physical Layer Scrambling feature allows descrambling of the entire physical<br />

layer frame except its header part. The physical level scrambling is done<br />

according to a seed sequence that the user enters.<br />

The use of different PL Scrambling sequences allows a reduction of interference<br />

correlation between different services. For the same purpose, it is possible to<br />

reuse a shifted version of the same sequence in different satellite beams.<br />

Furthermore the seed can be associated to a satellite operator or transponder,<br />

thus permitting identification of an interfering signal via the PL Scrambling seed<br />

detection. The PL Scrambling Seed screen allows setting the physical<br />

scrambling. The following figure illustrates the PL Scrambling Seed screen.<br />
