one stage “Z” lengthening of diaphysis, we
applied the Si-CAP (Actifuse, i.e. novel synthetic,
porous biomaterial) into lateral and
medial cortical femoral defects. The shortening
of the left femur was caused by a malfunction
of unilateral lengthening device
(Wagner device, medium-length) in the time
of previous lengthening by Ilizarov method
in the age of 10 years and consequent temporary
lesion of bone remodelling.

stage femoral lengthening.
figure 1a shows the proportionality
of the stature after lengthening of both
legs in 13 years of age, note shortening
(24 mm) of the left leg. figure 1B documents
the proportionality of the stature
after lengthening of both humeri and the
result of one stage lengthening of the left
femur in the age of 15 years and 6 months.
Note correction of the length of legs, the
final height was 132,4 cm.
