In 2010 (1 st October 2010) the chief of the<br />

Paediatric Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation<br />

Department was Prof. G. Kandzierski as<br />

a successor of Prof. T. Karski. Initially, the<br />

whole Department had 45 beds. Since<br />

2005 this Department (of Prof. Karski<br />

and now of Prof. Kandzierski) has had<br />

25 beds.<br />

In 2005 – the Paediatric Orthopaedic<br />

Department (as a University Department<br />

since 1970) was divided by the Authorities<br />

fig. 2 In this building was grounded in 1954 the Orthopaedic Department (for adults patients)<br />

of Medical Academy (later Medical University). The exactly date of Orthopaedics in Lublin is: 7 th<br />

December 1954.<br />

(5) Orthopaedic Department of Medical Academy (1954–1964)<br />

(20 beds) Department is Prof. A.<br />

Gregosiewicz.<br />

The chief of Orthopaedic Department<br />

for adults were successively:<br />

Prof. S. Piątkowski, Prof. J. Kozak,<br />

Prof. K. Modrzewski and now Prof. T.<br />

Mazurkiewicz. In the years from 1964 till<br />

now the Department for adults is situated<br />

in Jaczewskiego Street 8.<br />
