The Grand Wardens or the Stewards shall, beforehand,<br />

appoint such a number of Brethren to serve at table, as they<br />

think fit; and they may advise with the off<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>ice</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>rs of Lodges<br />

about the most p<strong>ro</strong>per persons, if they please, or may retain<br />

such by their recommendation ; for none are to serve that<br />

day but Free and Accepted Masons, that the communication<br />

may be free and harmonious.—( 0. R. Art. 27.)<br />

Now only the stewards appoint the attenders at table, who<br />

are the more necessary if the cooks and butlers are not<br />

B<strong>ro</strong>thers.—(JV. R. Art. 27.)<br />

OF THE <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>GRAND</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> TREASURER.<br />

ART. 1. The Grand Treasurer is chosen by the Grand<br />

Lodge.<br />

ART. 2. To him shall be committed all money raised for<br />

the general charity, or for any use of the Grand Lodge,<br />

which he shall write down in a book, with the respective ends<br />

and uses for which the several sums are intended; and shall<br />

expend or disburse the same by such a certain order, signed,<br />

as the Grand Lodge shall hereafter agree to in a new<br />

regulation.<br />

ART. 3. But by virtue of his off<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>ice</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> as Treasurer, without<br />

any other qualification, he shall not vote in choosing a new<br />

Grand Master and Wardens, though in every other transac­<br />

tion.— (JV. R.)<br />

ART. 4. The Treasurer and Secretary may have each a<br />

clerk or assistant, if they think fit, who must be a B<strong>ro</strong>ther<br />

and Master Mason; but must never be a member of the<br />

Grand Lodge, nor speak without being allowed or com­<br />
