ART. 1. On December 27, 1729, ordered, That every<br />

new Lodge, for the future, shall pay tuo guineas for their<br />

constitution, to the general Fund of Charity.<br />

AIIT. 2. December 27, 1727, the precedency of Ledges<br />

is g<strong>ro</strong>unded on the seniority of their constitution.—(A*. R.<br />

AHT. 3. November 25, 1723, no new Lodge is owned,<br />

nor their off<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>ice</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>rs admitted into the Grand Lodge, unless it be<br />

reguLrly constituted and registered.—(A*. R. Art. 12.)<br />

ART. 4. If any set or number of Masons shall take upon<br />

themselves to form a Lodge, without the Grand Master's war­<br />

rant, the regular Lodges are not to countenance them, nor<br />

own them as fair Brethren, duly formed, nor apj <strong>ro</strong>ve of their<br />

acts nnd deeds; but must treat them as rebc/s, until they<br />

humble themselves, as the Grand Master shall in hi3 pru­<br />

dence direct, and until he app<strong>ro</strong>ve of them by his warrant,<br />

signified to the other Lodges; as the custom is, when a new<br />

Lodge is to be registered in the Grand Lodge Book—( O.R.<br />

OF MAKINGS.<br />

ART. 1. No Lodge shall make more than Jive new<br />

B<strong>ro</strong>thers at one and the same time, without an urgent neces­<br />

sity ; nor any man under the age of twenty-five years, who<br />

must be also his own master, unless by a dispensation f<strong>ro</strong>m-<br />

the Grand Master.—( 0. R. Art. 4.)<br />

At a Quarterly Communication, November 23, 1753,<br />

Carysfort, Grand Master, it was unanimously ordered,<br />

ART. 2. That no Lodge shall ever make a Mason with*<br />

out due enquiry into his character; neither shall any Lodge<br />

be permitted to make and raise theaame B<strong>ro</strong>ther, at one and<br />

the same meeting, without a dispensation f<strong>ro</strong>m the Grand<br />

Master, which, on very particular oeaMoni only, may be<br />

requested.
