ART. 1. On April 29, 1724, the Grand Lodge oidained,<br />

That at the Feast, the Stewards shall open no wine till din­<br />

ner be laid on the tables ; that the members of each Lodge<br />

shall sit together as much as possible ; that after eight of the<br />

clock at night, the Stewards shall not be obliged to furnish<br />

any wine or other liquors ; and that either the money or<br />

tickets shall be returned to the Stewards.<br />

ART. 2. On November 26, 1728, the off<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>ice</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> of Stewards,<br />

that had been disused at three preceding Feasts, was revived<br />

by the Grand Lodge, and their number to be always twelve ;<br />

who, together with the Grand Wardens, shall prepare the<br />

Feast.<br />

ART. 3. On March 17, 1730-1, the Stewards for the<br />

year were allowed to have jewels of silver (though not gilded)<br />

pendant to red ribbons, about their necks, to bear white<br />

<strong>ro</strong>ds, and to line their white leather ap<strong>ro</strong>ns with red silk.<br />

Former Stewards were also allowed to wear the same<br />

sort of ap<strong>ro</strong>ns, white and red.<br />

ART. 4. On March 2, 1731-2, the Grand Lodge allowed<br />

each of the acting Stewards for the future, at the Feast, the<br />

privilege of naming his successor in that off<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>ice</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>, for the year<br />

ensuing.<br />

ART. 5. On June 24, 1735, upon an address f<strong>ro</strong>m those<br />

that have been Stewards, the Grand Lodge, in consideration<br />

of their past serv<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>ice</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> and future usefulness, ordained,<br />

That they should be constituted a Lodge of Masters, to be<br />

called the Stewards Lodge ; to be registered as such in the<br />

Grand Lodge Book and printed lists, with the times and<br />

place of their meetings.
