was resolved, That ALL Masters of regular Lodges, that<br />

have contributed to the charity, within twelve months past,<br />

shall be members of the committee, together with all former<br />

and present Grand off<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>ice</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>rs.<br />

ART. 17. That considering the usual business of a<br />

Quarterly Communication was too much for one time;<br />

whatever business cannot be dispatched here, shall be re­<br />

ferred to the Committee of Charity, and their opinion<br />

reported to the next Grand Lodge.<br />

ART. 18. That all questions, debated at the said com­<br />

mittee, shall be decided by a majority of those present.<br />

ART. 19. That all petitions for charity, presented to the<br />

Grand Lodge, shall be referred to the said committee, who<br />

are to report their opinion to the next Grand Lodge, viz:<br />

Whether or not the case of any distressed B<strong>ro</strong>ther deserves<br />

more relief than is in the power of the committee to give ?<br />

ART. 20. That the said committee shall tw<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>ice</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> give<br />

public not<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>ice</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>, in some public newspaper, of t u<br />

' time and<br />

place of their meetings.<br />

ART. 21. At the Grand Lodge, on Feb. 24, 1834-35,<br />

Craufurd, Grand Master, in the chair, it was recommended<br />

by the committee, and now resolved here, That no Master,<br />

of a Lodge shall be a member of the said committee, whose<br />

Lodge, has not contributed to the general charity, during<br />

twelve months past.<br />

ART. 22. That one of the Brethren, signing and certify­<br />

ing a poor B<strong>ro</strong>ther's petition, shall attend the committee to<br />

attest it.<br />

ART. 23. At the Grand Lodge, March 31, 1735, upon<br />

the motion of Craufurd, Grand Master, in the chair, it was<br />

resolved, That no extraneous B<strong>ro</strong>thers, that is, not regularly
