Purpose<br />
To develop turns around goal<br />
Organization<br />
Set out a 30-by-20-yard area with 2 goals (5 yards wide) and 2 goalkeepers on one endline. Place a series <strong>of</strong> diagonal<br />
discs across the area with a gate in the middle <strong>of</strong> the discs. Position 2 attackers on each side <strong>of</strong> the area at the<br />
entrance to the diagonal discs, each with a ball. Repeat in one other area for a total <strong>of</strong> 12 players.<br />
Game Objective<br />
The first player dribbles through the diagonal discs, turns through the gate and attempts a shot on goal. The second<br />
player repeats the activity. Repeat and then rotate positions.<br />
Progressions<br />
1. Use the weaker foot when dribbling and shooting.<br />
2. Add a defender to the middle <strong>of</strong> the area.<br />
3. The second player chases the first player through the diagonal discs and through the gate.<br />
Key Coaching Points<br />
1. Keep the ball within 2–3 feet between touches.<br />
2. Use the inside <strong>of</strong> both feet to change direction around the discs.<br />
3. Look up between touches.<br />
4. Focus on accuracy before power when shooting on goal.<br />
