2 vs. 2 with Four Goals<br />
Purpose<br />
To develop first time shooting in a game situation<br />
Organization<br />
Set out a 20-by-20-yard area with a goal (5 yards wide) and a goalkeeper on each side <strong>of</strong> the area. Station 1 server<br />
in each corner <strong>of</strong> the area, each with a ball. Play 2 vs. 2 inside the area.<br />
Game Objective<br />
Corner players take turns to play balls in to the center area. Center area players may pass the ball to each other to<br />
maintain possession but must attempt a first-time shot on goal when shooting. Rotate positions every 2 minutes.<br />
Progressions<br />
1. Play 3 vs. 3 in a 30-by-30-yard area with 2 servers.<br />
2. No passing. Every touch must be a shot.<br />
Key Coaching Points<br />
1. Place your non-kicking foot alongside the ball.<br />
2. Get your knee over the ball at impact.<br />
3. Follow through at the intended target.<br />
4. Strike the ball with the inside <strong>of</strong> your foot for accuracy when closer to goal.<br />
