tarkasteltiin paitsi perinteisistä psykodynaamisesta ja
systeemisestä näkökulmasta, myös uusiin työskentelymalleihin
tutustuen. Koulutuksien yhteydessä oli
myös kaikille alan työntekijöille avoimia seminaareja,
joissa oli mahdollista saada ensitiedot esimerkiksi
tunnekeskeisestä pariterapiasta, imagoterapiasta ja
Gottman -terapiasta kyseisten menetelmien ulkomaisilta
asiantuntijoilta. Syksyllä 2006 käynnistyi
Väestöliiton nelivuotinen paripsykoterapiakoulutus.
Kaiken kaikkiaan näyttäisi siltä, että pariterapeuttiset
työskentelymenetelmät ovat eriytymässä spesifeiksi
dyadisiksi interventiomalleikseen, joiden
asianmukainen käyttö edellyttää parisuhteen dynamiikan,
dyadisen vuorovaikutuksen ja kyseisten
menetelmien sekä tutkimuksellisten että teoreettisten
perusteiden ja interventiostrategioiden ymmärtämistä
ja riittävää hallintaa. Hyväksi, ajanmukaiseksi pariterapeutiksi
ei jatkossa näyttäisi olevan mahdollista
tulla vain yksilö-, perhe- tai ryhmäterapiaa opiskelemalla,
ellei niihin sisällytetä laajoja opiskelusisältöjä
uusista parisuhdetta koskevista tutkimustuloksista ja
pariterapeuttisista menetelmistä.
