Brian MankerIn addition to being a frequent concerto soloist with theOrchestre symphonique de Montréal, Brian Manker isa member of the New Orford String Quartet and theAdorno Quartet. He has performed throughout NorthAmerica as a member of the Harrington String Quartet,the Cassatt Quartet, and the Atlanta Chamber Players,and performed chamber music with many distinguishedartists. A grand prize winner as a member of theHarrington Quartet at the Fischoff National Chamber MusicCompetition, Brian Manker also received a special commendation fromSir Yehudi Menuhin at the Portsmouth International String QuartetCompetition. He has participated in many music festivals, includingNorfolk, Blossom, Chamber Music East, Roundtop, Swannanoa, theOttawa Chamber Music Festival, masterclasses at Orford, DomaineForget, and at the Canton International Summer Music Academy inChina. Currently on the faculty of McGill University, Brian Manker hasalso taught at West Texas State and Emory Universities.Stephen MarchiondaStephen Marchionda has recently been featured atLondon’s Wigmore Hall and New York City’s CarnegieHall (Aranjuez Series). Elsewhere, he has been invitedto perform at the Kennedy Center, Frick Collection,Aspen, Cheltenham and Les Soirées Des Junies MusicFestivals; Lincoln Center, Trinity and Saint PaulChurches in New York, BBC Radio 3, Radio Nacionalde España, National Public Radio, El Gran Teatro delLiceo de Barcelona and the Royal Opera House. Active in chambermusic Stephen has appeared in special collaborations in concert andrecordings with British tenor Philip Langridge, the Moscow StringQuartet, Kurt Streit, Rufus Muller and Sebastian Bell. Stephen is agraduate of Yale University’s School of Music, the Cleveland Instituteof Music and was a protégé of Ricardo Iznaola. He has won manyinternational prizes including the Guitar Foundation of America’sInternational Solo, the Segovia International, and the Manuel de Falla.Peter McGillivrayBorn in Saskatchewan and raised in Ontario, baritonePeter McGillivray gained international attention in 2005by winning 2nd prize both at the Montreal InternationalMusical Competition and at the Queen SonjaCompetition in Oslo, Norway. He has appeared withopera companies in Calgary, Saskatoon, Québec Cityand Victoria as well as in concert with the CalgaryPhilharmonic, Edmonton, Regina and WinnipegSymphonies, National Arts Centre Orchestra, Quebec SymphonyOrchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. A frequent guest onthe summer festival circuit, he has sung at the Elora, Orford, OttawaChamber Music, and Parry Sound Festivals in Canada while havingappeared at the Aspen, Ravinia, Tanglewood, Roskilde and AldeburghFestivals internationally.cello / violoncelleVioloncelle solo de l’Orchestre symphonique de Montréaldepuis 1999, Brian Manker mène une carrière trèsriche et diverse comme musicien et enseignant. À part diriger leFestival d’Alexandria en Ontario, le violoncelliste a effectué de nombreuxenregistrements. On peut d’ailleurs l’entendre dans Les six suitespour violoncelle seul de Bach sous étiquette Storkclassics, lancé en 2010ainsi que sur de nombreux disques de musique de chambre, et, bien sûr,avec l’OSM. Brian Manker est professeur à l’École de musique Schulichde l’Université McGill. En 2007, il a lancé le projet Beethoven, dontl’objectif est de présenter l’ensemble des quatuors du grand compositeurdans leur contexte d’origine, les salons privés.
