Lisa DiMariaLisa DiMaria is an outstanding soprano who comesfrom Gormley, Ontario. She graduated with honoursfrom Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts SecondarySchool in 2001 and then obtained a Bachelor of Musicand a Master of Music in Operatic Performance fromthe University of Toronto (U of T). Subsequently, shegraduated from the Canadian Opera Company’sEnsemble Studio program. Lisa DiMaria has wonnumerous awards at music competitions in Ontario including theGreater Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival, the National Association ofTeachers of Singing competition and the Rising Stars talent competitionat the Canadian National Exhibition. “Lisa sings with an emotionalconnection to the poet, character and composer that is beyond heryears”, says Lorna MacDonald, Head of Voice Studies at the Universityof Toronto. She received the Hnatyshyn Foundation GovernorGeneral’s Award for Classical Voice in 2005, the U of T OperaDivision’s Canadian Opera Volunteer Committee DistinguishedGraduate Award in 2007, and the Richard Bradshaw GraduateFellowship in Opera.sopranoNative de Gormley en Ontario, dès son adolescence,étudiante à la Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts, LisaDiMaria donnait des signes prometteurs d’une carrièreen musique vocale.
