Jennifer SwartzThe harp crossed the life path of Jennifer Swartz at theage of eight. Beginning at a summer music camp, shehas yet to look back. In 1992, Jennifer Swartz graduatedfrom the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Shehas an exciting career as a soloist, chamber artist,orchestral musician and teacher. Her solo career beganat the early age of sixteen, as a concerto soloist with theToronto Symphony Orchestra. She has been featuredwith orchestras all across Canada and made her Carnegie Hall debutwith the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. She is active in chamber musicfestivals and is the founder of the Four Seasons Harp Quartet. In 1993,Jennifer Swartz won the principal harp position with the CalgaryPhilharmonic Orchestra. One year later, she won the same position withthe Montreal Symphony Orchestra, a position she still holds today. Sheis assistant professor of harp at the Schulich School of Music, McGillUniversity.Kimball SykesKimball Sykes joined the National Arts CentreOrchestra as principal clarinet in 1985. He received aBachelor of Music Degree from the University ofBritish Columbia where he studied with Ronald deKant.In 1982, Kimball Sykes was awarded the first of twoCanada Council grants to study with Robert Marcellusin Chicago. He has performed and toured with theVancouver Symphony Orchestra and was a member ofthe Vancouver Opera Orchestra. He was a founding member of theVancouver Wind Trio. From 1983 to 1985, he was principal clarinet ofthe Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. Kimball Sykes has performed as asoloist with the National Arts Centre (NAC) Orchestra on numerousoccasions. In May 2000, he gave the premiere performance of Vaguesimmobiles, a clarinet concerto by Alain Perron commissioned for himby the NAC. Kimball Sykes is currently on faculty at the University ofOttawa.Daniel TaylorAn exclusive recording artist for Sony ClassicalMasterworks, Daniel Taylor is one of the most soughtaftercountertenors in the world and recognized asCanada’s finest. En1982, alors membre de l’Orchestre national des jeunesdu Canada, il reçoit la première des deux bourses duConseil des Arts du Canada qui lui seront décernées afinde lui permettre d’étudier avec Robert Marcellus à Chicago.Il s’est produit sur place et en tournée avec l’Orchestre symphoniquede Vancouver, a été membre de l’orchestre de l’Opéra deVancouver et l’un des membres fondateurs du Vancouver Wind Trio. Ila aussi été clarinette solo de l’Orchestre symphonique d’Honolulu de1983 à 1985. Kimball Sykes s’est produit comme soliste avec l’Orchestredu CNA à de nombreuses reprises. En mai 2000, il a créé Vagues immobiles,un concerto pour clarinette que le CNA avait commandé à son intentionau compositeur Alain Perron.
