La modernité c'est aussi sortir du carcan de la
fenêtre, installer le vitrail au plafond, entre deux
étages ou dans un "loft inversé"(pour récupérer
les m 2 d'un magasin abandonné en rez-dechaussée);
faire des vitaux atypiques : ronds,
triangulaires, les inclure dans un double vitrage.
La modernité c'est également l'électricité
faisant du vitrail un excellent outil en rénovation
chaque fois qu'il faut éclairer un coin sombre ou
masquer un jour de souffrance.
Même si Annick Cabanes, sa fille, habite à la
Réunion, ils travaillent souvent en collaboration
comme pour « l'Explosion Volcanique » ou le vitrail
de l'église d'Utuara dans l’Amazonie brésilienne
qui intègre son superbe « Saxophoniste bleu ».
L'artiste a également réalisé un ouvrage
intitulé Des Vitraux dans le Soleil qui explique
parfaitement sa démarche et raconte son
œuvre.
