In 2004, the domain takes up the improbable challenge of starting
a bio-dynamic cultivation over 14 hectares. The result is nothing
short than edifying and the wine proves astonishing. Proud of this
undeniable success, Alfred then decides to transform the entire
domain in bio-dynamic cultivation, a first for a Médoc Grand Cru
Classé...
Unfortunately, for lack of experience and knowledge, mildew (a
disease affecting vines and plants) ravages the wines in 2007,
forcing Alfred to use chemicals.
Refusing to admit defeat, Alfred comes out of the experience a
stronger man and has since reproduced many great vintages whilst
applying pure bio-dynamic cultivation techniques.
The constantly evolving Château Pontet-Canet strives for perfection
and authenticity and offers natural and suave notes and flavours.
The respect of the land and the attention granted to the vines have
become the lifestyle of the owners of the domain and guarantee a
top quality wine.
