By simulating a natural predator, the robotic falcon
has already been used in such places, like Brazilian airports,
landfills and commercial ports, in order to prevent
other animals from jeopardizing these activities. The
1.5-kg and 1,66 m x 63 cm robot may reach a speed of
200 km per hour, says aeromodelist Pierre Rousseau. He
mentions that the bird is made mostly of carbon fiber, a
component in Grand Prix cars. Its useful life is very long
and varies according to the cares bestowed upon it.

Invented by Paulo Ioli and patented in Brazil by
Renzo Fazioli, also from Italy, the bird represents high
investment. White Flight is the company entitled to
sell the product in Brazilian territory. Nevertheless,
the work was carried out at Irga’s Experiment Station
jointly with Hayabusa — Falcoaria e Consultoria
Ambiental, through biologists and ornithologists,
jointly with aeoromodelists from White Flight Serviços
Aeroviários. To be used in farms, the robot can be
leased, at pre-negotiated prices.
