A number of cities and regions across the country are stillsearching for some pioneer ways to encourage new visitors to come and extend theirstay. Every year Częstochowa is visited by great deal of tourists, mainly pilgrims, cominghere from every corner of the world. Yet for years the city has struggled with theproblem of short stays in town. It in principle refers to those wishing to pay a visit to theMarian Shrine. It results from the fact that Częstochowa is seen through the prism of theJasna Góra Monastery, and visits are limited only to visiting the place. Lack of a coherenttourist offer has so far been the primary cause of short stays in the city. The Częstochowatourist card seems to become a chance for a change and might be an effectivetool used in order to activate tourist traffic and thus to stimulate demand for tourism.Translated by Marta Kula
