This issue is of a great interest both for theorists and practitioners.The response of tourism demand to these factors can be measured through using priceand income elasticity coefficients. Since in the Polish tourism economy about half ofthe consumption can be attributed to non-residents, the article made the effort to showto which extent the demand of foreigners, realized on the Polish market, reacts to changesin prices, exchange rates or incomes. As a result of the analysis coefficients of priceand income elasticity of demand were obtained. Few of the most important generatingmarkets were surveyed: Germany, Great Britain, France, Netherlands and Ukraine.Translated by Teresa Skalska
