The heavy responsibility carried by a homoeopath demands a comprehensive trainingin the basics of medicine, together with the best possible vocational training. “By clearly defining and implementing thequality of training, we sort the wheat from the chaff”, say the SHI College Directors in our interview.76Mrs. Cachin, Mr. Jus, what is the scope of the courses offered at the SHIHomoeopathic College Zug (SHI Homöopathie Schule, Zug)?The scope is a training course leading to the qualification of StateDiploma in Homoeopathy hfnh at the level of a Higher College. We alsooffer vocational training in classical homoeopathy, specifically for doctorsand complementary health practitioners, leading to a Diploma inHomoeopathy SHI. Here there is also the facility to transfer into thehfnh training course leading to the state recognised qualification. Thetraining to become a homoeopath is the most comprehensive inSwitzerland and is the only state approved training in homeopathy.In addition, we offer a comprehensive further training program forcertified therapists. We also offer courses and seminars for lay persons,both in Switzerland and also at international locations.Which state recognised diplomas can be attained by successful graduationfrom the SHI Homoeopathic College (SHI Homöopathie Schule)?Since September 2007, the SHI Homoeopathic College has been entitledto grant the state recognised title of “Certified Homoeopath hfnh”at the level of a Higher College to those completing its homoeopathytraining course. After a four-year approval process by the Zug canton,the Zug Cantonal Council last year approved the training as satisfyingthe requirements of the Federal Ministry of Education and Technology(BBT). The SHI Homoeopathic College (SHI Homöopathie Schule)is one of the two members of the Higher College for Natural Healingand Homoeopathy (höhere Fachschule für Naturheilverfahren undHomöopathie, hfnh). The hfnh is the only Higher College in this fieldin all Switzerland.How long does the training to become a state recognised homoeopath last,and is the training full-time?The training lasts 4 1/4 years. Lectures take up three days a week;practical work and the dissertation start in the third year of training.What are the key points in your approach?The points listed below are the key points in our approach. This includes basic training in medicaland homoeopathic fields.• We train professional homoeopaths who will play an importantrole in health care.
