It's the story of twenty-year-old woman, Lolita Cassard, who's angry
at the whole world because she isn't as good-looking as girls in
magazines, in any case, certainly not as pretty as her young stepmother.
She liked so much to be beautiful, or at least be considered
such by her father, in fact to get his attention at all. But it's also the
story of a man, Etienne Cassard, who doesn't take much notice of
other people because he's too busy thinking about himself. He feels
like he's getting old, is sure that he's also missed out on love and that
he should have fought harder to make a place for himself in the
world. It's the story of a writer, Pierre Miller, who doubts that he'll
ever make it and no longer believes in success, until the moment he
encounters it and Etienne Cassard. It's the story of singing teacher,
Sylvia Miller, who believes in her husband, at least in his talent, but
who doubts her own and that of her student, Lolita. Until the moment
that she realizes she's the daughter of Etienne Cassard, the author
that she admires so much. It's the story of human beings who know
exactly what they'd do if they were in someone else's place, but who
are uncomfortable in their own and who are quite simply trying to
find out what their place is in the world.
Ez egy húszéves lány története: Lolita Cassard haragszik az egész
világra, mert nem hasonlít a magazinok címlaplányaira, pedig annyira
szeretne szép lenni, legalább az apja szemében. Ám az apja keveset
figyel másokra, inkább magát nézi, ahogy öregszik és valószín leg õ
sem kapott elég szeretetet. Az Agnés Jaoui által írt forgatókönyvet a
Cannes-i filmfesztiválon és az Európai Film díj átadón is a legjobb forgatókönyvnek
ítélték.

Neither fiction nor documentary, "Dogora" is a film that's musical,
impressionist and humanist. One day, Patrice Leconte listened to a
musical suite sung by 200 children. Until then, he'd never experienced
the kind of emotion that this music stirred in him. Then, a little
while later, he went to Cambodia. He'd never been so deeply moved
by a country. From these rare emotions an adventure was born, a universal
odyssey as surprising as it is touching, as light-hearted as it is
serious. Just like life.

humanista vízió zenében elbeszélve. Egy nap Patrice Leconte felfedez
